Electrical Fault Finding Cost & Questions
Frequent tripping usually means an RCD or breaker is doing its job: detecting a fault. Common culprits are a failing appliance, moisture in an outdoor fitting, a damaged cable, or an overloaded circuit. We isolate circuits one by one to pinpoint the cause rather than just resetting the switch and hoping.
Fault finding is charged as an hourly service booking. Many faults are traced and fixed within the first hour or two; more elusive intermittent faults can take longer. We'll keep you informed as we go — no surprise invoices.
Flickering can be as simple as an incompatible LED dimmer or a loose lamp — or as serious as a deteriorating connection in the wiring or switchboard. Because loose connections generate heat and are a fire risk, ongoing flickering is worth getting checked promptly.
Yes — a single dead outlet usually means a failed socket, a broken connection behind it, or a damaged section of cable on that circuit. These are quick fixes for us, but they're not something a homeowner can legally repair themselves.
